It is also used in the synthesis of nonracemic arylpiperazinone analogs of the carboxyl-terminal CAAL sequence of protein geranylgeranyltransferase-I (PGGTase-I) as selective inhibitors of PGGTase-I and of protein farnesyltransferase.
