Applications:
The antibody can be used for inhibition of human and monkey IL-6 in bioassays. immuno precipitation and immuno assays. Furthermore the antibody is extremely useful in Western blots. The antibody reacts with human natural and recombinant Interleukin-8 (IL-8) as assessed by ELISA. The antibody inhibits the biological activity of human native and recombinant IL-8. The antibody cross reacts with rhesus and cynomolgus natural IL-8.
Function:
IL-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils basophils and T-cells but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus.
Subunit:
Homodimer.
Subcellular Location:
Secreted.
Similarity:
Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family. [1] Kukielka G. L. Smith W. C. LaRosa G. J. Manning A. M. Mendoza L. H. Daly T. J. Hughes B. J. Youker K. A. Hawkins H. K. Michael L. H. et al.
