Vimentin is a member of the intermediate filament protein family. Intermediate filaments are an important structural feature of eukaryotic cells. They, along with microtubules and actin microfilaments, make up the cytoskeleton. Although most intermediate filaments are stable structures, in fibroblasts, vimentin exists as a dynamic structure. GenScript, Rabbit Anti-Vimentin Polyclonal Antibody, is developed in rabbit hosts using a KLH-coupled synthetic peptide within residues 70-120 of human vimentin protein (Swiss Prot: P08670).

Small volumes of antibody will occasionally become trapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. Before use, briefly centrifuge the vial to dislodge any liquid in the container's cap.

Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with deionized water (or equivalent) to an antibody concentration of 0.5 mg/ml.

The antibody is stable in lyophilized form if stored at -20C or below. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for 2-3 weeks at 2-8C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C or below. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
