Viral suspension, Grade 2 Antigen, cultured in chicken eggs. Eggs are infected by the amniotic route, incubate 72 hours and refrigerated overnight. Amniotic and allantoic fluids are harvested from live eggs and the embryos are washed in PBS. The suspension is concentrated using ultrafiltration. The concentrate is sonicated and clarified using low speed centrifugation. This preparation contains high concentration of viral antigens as well as some eggs proteins in PBS. This antigen can be used as is in a variety of proven immunoassays procedures or may be further purified for specific applications.
