Description	MBS-12 specifically detects AFP. This protein is one of the major serum proteins in the early life of mammals. AFP is an oncodevelopmental gene product which is expressed at high levels in the embryonic yolk sac and fetal liver. AFP production is reactivated in the adult during liver regeneration and hepatocarcinogenesis. Source: A BALB/c mouse was immunized with alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and the isolated splenocytes were fused with NS1 cells.
Formulation	100 ug purified material in PBS with 0.05% sodium azide. Precaution: Sodium azide is a poisonous and hazardous substance which should be handled by trained staff only.
Storage and Stability	Store antibody at 2-8C until expiration date.
Application Information	MBS-12 can be applied for detection of AFP on frozen tissue sections and in ELISAs.
