Description	Human Follicle Stimulating Hormone (hFSH). hFSH is a glycoprotein produced from urine of post-menopausal women and having a total molecular mass of 30, 000 Dalton. HuFSH is a heterodimeric hormone consisting of 92 amino acids chain (non-active) and 111 amino acids chain (active). HuFSH induces maturation of Graafian follicles of the ovary promotes development of germinal cells in males and activates cytosolic tyrosine kinase.

Purity	98% Protein quantitation was carried out by 2 independent methods: - UV spectroscopy at 280 nm - Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a standard solution of hFSH as a Reference Standard. Contaminants: Less than: 0.1% hCG, 0.5%TSH, 0.5% LH, 0.5%GH and 0.5%Prl.

Biological Activity	hFSH is biologically active compared to standard (IRP reference preparation 68/140). The activity was found to be 626IU/mg. Unit definition: 5000IU = 16 mg
